aPHR™

The Associate Professional in Human Resources™ (aPHR™) is the first-ever HR certification designed for professionals who are just beginning their HR career journey and proves your knowledge of foundational Human Resources.

Eligibility:

A high school diploma or global equivalent.

aPHR Exam:

The aPHR is offered throughout the year. Testing begins on November 1, 2016. Exam is Computer-based Testing (CBT) conducted at a Prometric testing center.
Exam time: 2 hours and 15 minutes

Exam length:100 multiple-choice questions + 25 pretest questions

Exam Fee: $325 + Application Fee*: $75

 

Recertification:

Your aPHR certification is valid for three (3) years after testing. To remain certified, you must earn 45 recertification credits over the three-year time span or retake the exam.

PHRi™

The Professional in Human Resources -International™ (PHRi™) – credential demonstrates mastery of generally accepted technical and operational HR principles. This credential is developed to validate core human resource knowledge and skills and demonstrated mastery of generally accepted principles, independent of geographic region, from professionals practicing HR outside of the United States. Through demonstrated knowledge, the credentials enhance the credibility of HR professionals and the organizations they serve.

Eligibility:

  • a minimum of 1 year of experience in a professional-level HR position + a Master’s degree or global equivalent -OR-
  • a minimum of 2 years of experience in a professional-level HR position + a Bachelor’s degree or global equivalent, -OR-
  • a minimum of 4 years of experience in a professional-level HR position + a high school diploma or global equivalent.

PHRi™ Exam:

The PHRi is offered throughout the year. Testing begins on September 1, 2016. Exam is Computer-based Testing (CBT) conducted at a Prometric testing center.
Exam time: 3 hours and 15 minutes

Exam length: 145 multiple-choice questions + 25 pretest questions

Exam Fee: $200 + Application Fee*: $75

Recertification:

Your PHRi certification is valid for three (3) years after testing. To remain certified, you must earn 60 re-certification credits over the three-year time span or retake the exam.

SPHRi™

The Senior Professional in Human Resources – International™ (SPHRi™) – credential demonstrates mastery of generally accepted HR principles in strategy and policy development as well as service delivery. The credential is developed to validate core HR knowledge and skills and demonstrated mastery of generally accepted principles, independent of geographic region, from professionals practicing human resources outside of the United States. Through demonstrated knowledge, the credentials enhance the credibility of HR professionals and the organizations they serve.

Eligibility:

  • a minimum of 4 year of experience in a professional-level HR position + a Master’s degree or global equivalent, -OR-
  • a minimum of 5 years of experience in a professional-level HR position + a Bachelor’s degree or global equivalent, -OR-
  • a minimum of 7 years of experience in a professional-level HR position + a high school diploma or global equivalent.

SPHRi™ Exam:

The SPHRi is offered throughout the year. Testing begins on September 1, 2016. Exam is Computer-based Testing (CBT) conducted at a Prometric testing center.
Exam time: 2 hours and 30 minutes

Exam length: 105 multiple-choice questions + 25 pretest questions

Exam Fee: $300 + Application Fee: $75

Recertification:

Your SPHRi certification is valid for three (3) years after testing. To remain certified, you must earn 60 re-certification credits, of which 15 must be Business Management & Strategy credits, over the three-year time span OR retake the exam.
